Buildings, Granada (study)
Meet the Artist Reception: Friday, September 5, 6-9pm
John Maurer’s oil paintings are primarily scenes from European
countries where he has traveled since 2001. His work is vibrant
and spontaneous, with loose, expressive strokes of impasto color.
Pigment is applied in layers, typically using palette knives.

Eclat (Burst)
Valeria Maksimova, in her American debut, will be featured
with 8 original works at Barnstone Gallery. Born in Moscow,
currently residing in Belgium, Valeria combines her oil paintings
with architectural like detail in brilliantly colored, visually textured
landscapes that emotionally pull you deep into the crevices of her
canvas. This Premier American Show will run Aug 19th through the
30th.

collects and utilizes in her work. By adding her own style to each piece,

and new. Being a graduate gemologist and certified appraiser gives her
a unique background on all of the elements incorporated in each design.

Art Matters: Art Show and Sale

Art Matters, a Philadelphia area arts magazine, will be hosting its first fine
art show and sale and Barnstone along with a few other select galleries in
the area will be represented. The event will be held at the Villanova
Conference Center in the Montrose Mansion and conference center. The
center will provide music, complimentary hors d, oeuvres and a cash bar.
