Agnes Carbrey paints life's essential energy - - the energy of muscle beneath skin, water beneath wave, earth beneath land, bringing a sensual vitality to all her work.

Agnes Carbrey's  painting,  drawing  and  installation  work  explores the
expressive  aspect  of  the  human  form.  She  eraned  her  master  of

fine arts  degree at Parson School of  Design in New York, where she studied with  the painter,  Leland Bell.  Her undergraduate  work  in painting  and design was done at the Kansas City Art Institute.  Award-winning artist Agnes Carbrey currently resides in Lexington, Virginia and teaches art at James Madison University.
