Born and raised in the flower business, Julie Anne was mentored by top flower experts. That, along with her own creative energy, Julie Anne has been able to accomplish a unique design all of her own. Julie Anne resides in Arizona and along with the assistance of her husband; she has been pressing flowers for approximately 15 years.

Creative Drive:
“I love flowers. I love color, texture, patterns; I love the ability to be able to take something so special and use it to create patterns and textural art. I love working from within the deepest parts of my soul and creating what no one has ever seen.”

Key emotion represented in your work:
“This is hard for me to pinpoint. I would have to say happiness, joy, and peace. The colors are uplifting and when you look into these pieces there is a soothing sense to the soul.”

Thoughts on your process:
“The process is something I discovered out of necessity. I needed to protect the flowers from fading and the elements from drying them out. I did much searching and I had a lot of trial and errors, but was able to find a way using UV protectant and a sealing process that is perfect.”

Personal relationship with your work:
“My work is a personal expression of my own individuality. My love and passion for flowers and using them in an art form is a blessing. I want my work to bless others with positive, uplifting, and peaceful feeling. Life can be so hard. It’s the simple things that can be our greatest pleasures.”

Thoughts on sharing art:
“Art must be shared. It is a free gift to the artist and it is an inspiration of hope and life to others. It is a window to the world in someone else’s view. Personal artist expression is a wonderful way to free the soul.”
