September 2007 through October 2007 Reflections Featuring John Costanza Meet the Artist Reception: Friday, September 7, 6-9pm Nationally recognized, award winning artist John Costanza returns to Barnstone Gallery with Reflections, an extraordinary, intimate exhibit of the painting themes that span his 60+ year career. John's paintings are largely autobiographical with a message of tranquility; occasionally humorous with a surreal quality that both defies and defines the serene message. Paintings by Mary Costanza (1927-2000), his late wife, will also be featured. Combined, the work of John (poetic and serene) and Mary (compassionate and haunting) present a powerhouse of artistic expression.

We feel it is important to showcase prospective artists and allow them to demonstrate their visions through their chosen mediums. The goal of this show is to give young artists a chance to show their work in a gallery setting with future opportunities for representation. For further information reguarding this show please contact Erin @barnstonegallery.com. May 2007 A Colorful Tango of Vision and Fantasy Featuring Florence Putterman
As a budding artist, Florence started out painting still lifes and flowers. She then became inspired by petroglyphs created by the Anasazi Indians after taking a trip to New Mexico. Florence Putterman’s ability to utilize abstract shapes in place of words is comparable only to that of a poet who understands acrylic paint, sand, and crushed shells as her medium. Through the marriage of paint and canvas, Florence plays with symbols and geometric shapes in a playful way that aims to please all who gaze upon her work. March 2007 through April 2007 Enliven, Emerge, Enlighten Featuring John Costanza Meet the Artist Reception: Friday, March 2, 6pm-9pm John Costanza explores, invents and experiments with simple shapes to create visions in ceramic sculpture. Contrasting solid form with airy weightlessness is the genius behind John's mastery of his craft.
