"My process has no definite logical beginning,

middle or end."

-Martin Campos

A. Martin Campos

View Martin's Work

Martin is a native New Mexican from Albuquerque.  He has always worked with his hands in some form or another and comes from a working class family.  Martin was a visual artist his whole life, drawing the things that he really thought he wanted.  He is now thirty-eight and living in Philadelphia and continues to create the things he wants to be.

Creative drive:
“The inability to communicate what I feel about the form in any other way possible drives me to create.  I also enjoy the opportunity to talk to other artists. ”

Key emotion represented in work:
"Pathos."

What is unique about your process:

"My process has no definite logical beginning, middle or end.  Now more than ever I try to blurr those lines, trying to keep the whole process as organic and not static.  I suppose I would like my process to be like James Brown."

Personal relationship with your work:
"My work totally describes who I am and gives me existance."

Thoughts on sharing art:
“Communication and dialogue.  I hope that my art, in a physical standpoint at least, fades a little in the distance and is only a point of departure for discussion about the figure.”
