"I couldn’t imagine my life without my painting. Art enriches my entire life. I believe I see the world differently

as an artist.”

-Lori Hollenbeck

    Lori Hollenbeck

Lori Hollenbeck lives in Kennett Square, PA and has been a practicing artist for 12 years. She attended art school in Pasadena, California. Lori focuses on large-format watercolor.

Lori’s creative drive: “Creativity has always been a large part of who I am. I always loved colors and was very aware of nature. My grandparents owned farms and my best memories are of being out in the hills and fields with nature. My grandmother and mother always loved flowers. I tell my mother that she can plant the flowers and I will paint them.”

Key emotion represented in her work: “I want to communicate the sense of joy, excitement, and wonder that I feel inside when I paint. I love my subjects, and they inspire me to capture them in exciting ways.”

Thoughts on process: “I am a transparent watercolorist. I work in a large format and use more color than most watercolorists. People are not always sure of my medium when viewing my work.”

Personal relationship to her work: "I couldn’t imagine my life without my painting. Art enriches my entire life. I believe I see the world differently as an artist.”

Thoughts on sharing art: “My art is about sharing my excitement with the viewer. I want the viewer to feel the excitement I felt when choosing a particular subject. I want to add a little happiness and color to the world.”
